The four roles of the APN are: Certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), certified nurse midwife (CNM), clinical nurse specialist (CNS), and certified nurse practitioner (CNP). The CRNA can administer anesthesia surgical procedures in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, obstetricians, dentist, and other qualified health care professionals.
