Histamine is a water soluble monoamine with the formula C5H9N3 and produced majorly by mast cells from bone marrow. Histamine has four receptors; H1, H2, H3 and H4 which are involved in hypersensitivity reactions, lymphocyte cytokine productions, functions of blood-brain barrier and cytokine generation respectively (kemp, 2020).
