Caring in Nursing
Caring in nursing as a nursing concept is the very element of bringing nurses and patients together. When a patient feels like they are truly being cared for its typically related to the amount of time the caregiver provided, people want to be listened to and understood. Caring is important in the nursing practice because it’s the very compound that enables the best medical treatment (Ryder & Chambers 2018). In this paper we will explore the definition and expression of caring.
Definition of Caring
My personal definition of or take on caring revolves more around the actions the make as providers. The very action of sitting and listening to patients helps create a caring connection that we are listening to them and the feedback we give them is easier to understand for them (Ryde & Chambers 2018). The time it takes to explain what we are doing and why, because they don’t know. The amount of research and evidence behind spending extra time to understand the true reason a patient is concerned for their health and how we, as providers can help them understand what may or may not be going on.
